Now’s about the time in the blog where we struggle to keep up with what’s going on and start the posts made primarily of photos (a mix from us both) and hybrids of a number of tours. Here’s some marvellous tiny little things we’ve seen, many of which want to kill you.
| Strawberry Poison Dart (blue jeans) Frog hiding - on the La Fortuna sloth tour, but everywhere, the most common in the country |
| Gorgeous tiny long nosed bats - Caño Negro |
| Bullet ants - you don’t want to get bitten by one of these fellas - Manzanillo wildlife refuge |
| Leaf cutter ants, ambitiously punching well above their weight - Cahuita NP |
| Cicada - La Fortuna sloth tour |
| Mighty impressive lizard we don’t know what it’s called, sitting in our patio doorway warning us off - treehouse Punta Uva |
| Crab - treehouse Punta Uva |
| No idea what this guy is but he’s pretty cool - David didn’t know either - Cahuita NP |
| Tiger ant - absolutely beautiful, quite large, and packs a men punch |
| This guy is just pretending to be poisonous in the hopes of escape - Cahuita NP |
| Blue Morpho, or blue mofo as we call it, given it won’t sit still for a good shot - Cahuita NP |

The outside of the blue mofo - feasting on a noni fruit - Cahuita NP |
| |

Crab - treehouse Punta Uva |
| Butterfly, not sure what type, in the wildlife refuge on Margaret’s first tour |

Tiny, tiny caterpillar whose hairs are incredibly poisonous |
| Another poison dart frog - Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge |
I love all of these. Especially the strawberry dart frog. Who knew?
