We woke up this morning to the throaty bellow of howler monkeys. It’s an impressive sound at 5 in the morning, especially when followed by rustling and crashing through the trees directly outside our rooms. We had a forest walk planned, and Marg is working on photos and a blog post for that, but as we got organised Stephanie from reception called to say a group of howler monkeys were hanging at reception, so we grabbed cameras and headed over. Here is some of what greeted us this morning - and when we returned from our hike there was a troupe of monkeys in the tree directly above our jacuzzi. We are in heaven.
